i finally got to reading harry potter and the deathly hallows. finished it just now. its bloody brilliant(come to think of it, i picked up "bloody" from harry potter!). i kind of lost interest in it by the time book 7 came out. the wait was just too looonnnnggg.

Ron Weasley: He must've known I'd run out on you.
Harry Potter: No...he must've known you'd always want to come back.
then it was so expensive. then everyone started reading it anyway. then people started talking about it like nuts. so i heard spoilers plentyful even before i saw the book cover! SOOO. duh. i completely, didnt feel like reading it anymore.

Harry: Is this real? Or has this been
happening inside my head?
Dumbledore: Of course it is happening
inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not
real?

but anyway, the plot bugged me too much, so i read it lah. and it was good! the start was too hasty, people were getting married, dying, getting pregnant etc, so fast that i couldnt keep track. the middle was toturing actually. i ran through the whole middle. =X but it was still good. i guess maybe it was finding out the truth that felt so good. FINALLY the pieces of the puzzle fit together. =)
When he straightened up again, there were six Harry Potters gasping and
panting in front of him. Fred and George turned to each other and said together,
"Wow -- We're identical!"
errrm so many characters died, that i got jaded already. only dumbledore and sirious' deaths in the previous books got me affected. the deaths in this book were kinda.... rushed. no time to think over it. they just die and the plot moves on. >.<
"You must kill me." [Dumbledore]
There was a long silence, broken only by an odd clicking noise.
Fawkes the phoenix was gnawing a bit of cuttlebone.
"Would you like me to do it now?" asked Snape, his voice
heavy with irony. "Or would you like a few moments to compose an
epitaph?"

the ending was errrm, happy. but not typically. okay it was typical. but typical in an un-typical way, you know? ahhh i dont know.

i kind of expected harry to die and the book to end with a BLAST. with many many meaningful quotes yada yada. you know, that sort of ending. BUT, it didnt! i didnt expect rowling to do this sort of ending. happily-ever-after kind of endings. the many-years-later kind of ending. its cliche, yet not so cliche when she does it. i like it anyway.

but i still prefer Cassandra Claire's fanfiction version.... so much more deep. =X

tomorrow's the last day of studying. for some time at least. yipeedooders. =D
