just finished Nodame Cantabile. :)

the water-colour animation, i felt, suited the context a lot. the art and animation was marvelous... even though most of the orchestra scenes are still images. the occasional close up takes of the musicians playing, WAH! they're really nice and flowly, and for once, they follow the MUSIC.

unlike those chapalang kind where the fingering/bowing all dont match the music. -_-

anyway, i admit i'm not a classical music kind of person. but Nodame Cantabile was able to bring out the visual images of classical music. you know, like colours and all that. so i got to know a lot more classical music. more of bach, brahms and strauss. according to nodame, strauss is pink! hur. there's this DAMN NICE song that nodame keeps playing. but i cant remember the name. errrrm.

i can never tell what colour is the music. i remember melody was the first person who told me about music having colours.

the most interesting thing about the anime is, its not some piano hunk or drop-dead-gorgeous violinist. its not swooning over this someone-who-looks-handsome-when-playing-his-instrument. shinichi chiaki is a CONDUCTOR! *cheers* now, how many shows actually do conducting? :)

other than the music aspect, ehh, Nodame Cantabile also follows the characters FEARS. chiaki has a deep rooted fear for travelling(via air/sea), so he's practically stuck in japan where he cant bring his musical talents far. nodame on the other hand, has a big problem with playing her piano properly. she doesnt like "doing what the scores say". she likes playing the piano her own way, often recomposing the famous piano pieces in her own rhythmn and notes.

i liked the franz von stresemann arc very much. :) they made him a silly pervertic old man, but really, in the end he taught them the most. albeit very indirectly.

i therefore conclude, water-colour-animation is the best. just like honey and clover. :)

I FOUND THE NAME OF THE PIECE. Piano Sonata D845, Franz Schubert.

there was another piece that i liked, an Oboe Concerto, i think its Concerto in D major for Oboe, Richard Strauss. thats the one thats PINK in colour. and the last 2nd episode's violin concerto, Carmen Fantasty by Pablo De Sarasate, that was RED in colour, and it was nice too!

OKAY. enought about classical music.

practice was kinda crap today. ended up hearing army stories from yaosheng and chuancheng again. -_- but we did accomplish some things anyway. set the dates for all the december events. have to start publicity for the solo concert. by the time i got home, my head was swimming with ideas. and i was really tired.

so i was knocked out for 2.5 hours. =X

so now i cant sleep again. its damn irritating.

anyway, i finished the whole draft poster already. my head was really swarmed with ideas and images, it was screaming at me to start. so i spent the whole night doing it up. extracting those incoherent images from my brain. argh. o_0

looks like this right now.

have to take promotional photos of wanting, ruiping, peizhen, shaoan and xueying and fill them up in the boxes! NYAHAHA. i cant wait to see the final product. :D

it looks a bit more like a poster for "live the dream" though... am thinking maybe i should change the "young talents" font. that scribblywilly font is more suited for superstar then chinese orchestra. -_-

oh poo.
